The La Fiesta ‘22

Friday 28th of October was a day of fun and enjoyment for all students of Beacon Light Academy and the teachers. It was a day packed with fun events, and opportunities to relax, eat, dance, and sing all we wanted!

The Talent Show

Many Students came on the stage with their outstanding talents. It was such a good opportunity for them to have a chance to stand up on the stage and showcase talents that are not related to academics. This also gives them encouragement to continue with their hidden talents and not to suppress them within themselves in the race for academic success.

We had many talented singers such as Amber Jamal, Abeera Fahad, and Abdul Muqeet from class XI – B. We also had beet boxing presented by Rayan. The Last Boy who came up for the rap stole the show out there!

Stalls

There were many stalls by The Commerce science students. The good thing about those stalls was that they encouraged students to give 50% of their profit towards flood relief which was a very outstanding approach by our School. This not only allowed students to learn to earn on their own but also created an opportunity for them to be excellent and kind citizens of Pakistan.

The stalls comprised food, games, and accessories. The food stalls were French fries, limca, brownies, pasta, biriyani, sandwiches, burgers, and cold drinks. I could see their business blooming as a huge crowd could be seen lining up for their turn to get their hands on the delicious food item to munch on!

The game stalls had chess, checkers, finding a ring in the sand, throwing sponges on 11 graders, and much more! All of them were highly interactive and fun to play. The reviews of the students were very positive about them, especially the sponge-throwing game. It was the most iconic game in the fiesta according to many students.

Haunted House

The students of Class XI – E had set up a Haunted House in a classroom. The thing I myself would like to comment on was their teamwork! They managed to make the room into a place out of a horror movie in only a day! And according to many students, the atmosphere of the place was as creepy to be real enough. The setting and background audios were perfectly in sync with the atmosphere and the cosplays were said to be rocked by the students! The reviews of that experience were very positive and almost every person going there enjoyed it.

Tug of War

The challenge of pulling ropes with our reputation on the line. The Matches of Tug of War were nothing you’d ever experienced before!

The first round of matches among the boys started off with a match between grades 9 and 10 where grade 10 won. The second round proceeded with grades 10 and 11, sadly enough grade 11 boys let us down defeated by their juniors…

But that wasn’t all! The round of matches among the girls was the real match! The match of grades 9 and 10 proceeded with grade 9’s loss but the match of 10 and 11 graders was what took the place of the best event of the day! It was an excellent match between the girls as they struggled, competing with one another. And guess what! The boys joined in the match as well! The boys of both grades accompanied the girls in the elongated match of struggle and power and at last, Grade 11 took the victory!

After the matches between the grades, it was time for the teachers to step in… Our hosts Teham and Affan had announced a showdown between 11 graders and they’re respected… TEACHERS! The round was astonishing as the teachers and students of BLA struggled for victory- and +5 marks in all subjects. But it was a defeat for the teachers as we students used the laws of Physics to compete with our dear teachers.

Overall the day was remarkable and memorable for teachers as well as students- especially us 11th graders who are in their last year of school. We all are grateful to Our teacher Ms. Mudassir and Global Citizen students for arranging such an amazing event. We had a great time. Thank you so much!
