Poetry and Philosophy: A Glimpse of “Yesterday I was the Moon”

This week, for book review, I chose a very special book. The book is written by Pakistani female writer Noor-un-Nahar and is her first book. She is a writer who has two books of her books published and loved by many people.
The book is called ‘Yesterday I was the Moon’. The book doesn’t have any unrealistic fantasy to interest some of you. Rather it revolves around certain quotes that can make you think deeply, especially about our religion. With its poetry, this book can motivate you and change the way you look at certain things.
As young adults, we struggle a lot. While entering into the cruel real world, we shatter and sometimes we break. This book can help you rebuild yourself positively without ending the kindness and sunshine that lies within us. As Noor talks about courage, culture and making peace, her book can make you fall in love with yourself.
If you love books like these, “Yesterday I was the Moon” is a top match for you, and luckily, it’s available in our school library as well.
