(Note: BEFORE GOIND AHEAD I need to mention that I am currently not earning through freelancing, because I haven’t mastered a skill yet due to the time I’ve invested in the research!)
Hi, this is Umar, and I’m a student and an active course researcher. I discovered freelancers three years ago and today I am working to be one.
If you’ve landed here, you’re a fortunate soul, trust me!
I’ve combined a large number of courses from the web including YouTube, Udemy, Harvard University, SoloLearn, Digiskills,CS50,Unity,Figma and a massive number of other L.M.S’s which develop your skills to start your digital journey and encourage you to start earning today.
Now, to our main question!
What is freelancing?
“Freelancing is basically a different way to work. Rather than being employed by a company in one specific job, freelancers are self-employed and find work via a variety of sources and work independently from the comfort of their homes.”, says Google ( Don’t worry, I’ll explain it later!)
(Read Further, There’s a Gift just for YOU!)
But, in these times, people don’t try to teach about money anymore, not even schools and universities.
Some even worst cases try to enforce fake-rich schemes upon you naming a few of them like Tai Lopez, the famous ‘In my Garage’ ad you all might be familiar with because it reached an enormous number of 50+ Million views on YouTube.(*Lamborghini* + knowledge, Bruh!)
Here’s an idea about how people treat him in the memes section:
(I’m not a meme champ, sorry bois!)
Lol, anyway, Here In this series I’ve got a valuable list of courses ranging from learning programming to art, web design, game design, app dev and mobile dev.(It’s not all Tech though, I’ve got art and animation as well and Many More!)
I surfed all through the internet when people were chilling with Netflix and extracted out these absolute gems of courses which can teach you to master your skills for FREE! (Yeah they’re all free!) And I’m giving the resources for all these courses in this blog series.
Here, I would like to quote an experience (as I like to quote them a lot!). When I was discovering game dev, I found Unity (most of you might know what it is). Basically, it’s a software which helps game developers to make 2D and 3D platformers like Minecraft and Mario (Minecraft Clone was made in Unity by a YouTube Creator ‘Sam Hogan’)
And, I looked through the internet to find out more about unity, when I was looking, I actually found out that a Pakistani guy was offering a course. (ft. Azad Chaiwala)
Well, I was satisfied that he was a native and was actually doing something to uplift the youth, helping them grasp these skills so they can stand somewhere in the future.
My satisfaction ended when I saw a “PRICE tag”, not only it wasn’t free but it was way above the par.
‘400,000 PKR!!!’
That is 2000 dollars!
You’ve got 100 dollar courses at Udemy and SkillShare that teach Way better! (Best sites to actually BUY courses if you are serious about certificates and being a professional).
Anyways, I laid off the idea of learning game dev and promised myself to come back when I see a free course.
Eventually, when I was watching some games made in Unity (Subnautica and Karlson 3D made by Dani) on YouTube, I stumbled over a pro game-developer, name’s Brackeys. I went over to his channel, and Bingo!
Every Playlist pre-made for beginners to advanced level for FREE!
These were literally the best tutorials I found out on whole of the internet!
I even tried learning a bit, until I made a Cube player and a ground object in Unity (that maybe jargon for you, Sorry!) and TBH it was so easy to hear and follow.
Unfortunately, I was forced to leave it when C#( a little-bit complex programming language) came into the tutorial, but I promised myself to go back towards it, when I’ll learn C# in a while.
TBH you don’t really need C# for Unity as a beginner, but if you have learned it, you’ve got a major advantage as a beginner and the learning curve is way much lesser, here’s how C# looks like.
A pro-tip: For programming languages, always start with python or Java-script to actually understand the BASIC concepts first.(or grab an o-level Computer Science book before that if you have it! Gce compilation is a great website)
So, if you have any sort of interest, whether it be of making and designing web pages or making physics-based games like Mario which is a 2D-Platformer or anything like Arts or even MAKING your own fonts.(literally anything!)
Just keep yourself updated with this #LearnToEarn series on The BLA Blog so you get updated with the courses you want.
Here are some of the screenshots from my desktop which shows my research.
(P.S: I have watched almost all of these courses and I know that they are from reliable resources and Above All, they’re FREE!)
