{"id":1099,"date":"2022-02-22T16:23:50","date_gmt":"2022-02-22T16:23:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.beaconlightacademy.edu.pk\/?p=1099"},"modified":"2022-02-22T16:23:58","modified_gmt":"2022-02-22T16:23:58","slug":"zooming-into-the-zoom-in-22","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.beaconlightacademy.edu.pk\/index.php\/2022\/02\/22\/zooming-into-the-zoom-in-22\/","title":{"rendered":"Zooming into the ZOOM IN &#8217;22"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video controls src=\"http:\/\/blog.beaconlightacademy.edu.pk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/science-fair.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It was announced two weeks prior that a science exhibition given the name of \u201cZOOM IN\u201d was going to be held on the 17th of February which had immediately caught every student\u2019s interest like a fish hook. The event had several competitions in itself such as \u2018Invention convention\u2019, \u2018Robo League\u2019, \u2018Robo war\u2019 and a generalized science-related project exhibition with unique experiments and demonstrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In those two weeks, students were seen rushing here and there while working on their models and ideas in hopes of making the most innovative and unique project. While some young juniors focused on chemical experiments others spent time and energy creating a room of amazing math problems and brain teasers, as well as games. There were groups huddled in the junior library working hard and some in classrooms whereas brilliant and qualified 11<sup>th<\/sup> graders trained young students of 6 and 7 for the robotics competition in the computer labs. The teachers of the STEM subjects were constantly swarmed with students seeking their help, which they gladly offered. Our beloved art teacher was almost always spotted handing out art resources and requirements to the excited participants waiting to further build their ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the much-awaited day finally arrived to say it was outstanding would be an understatement. As the rooms were prepared and the ground was decorated, there were exemplary activities and propositions to be seen in every direction. The teachers visited every room and observed every experiment and model however the students remained unaware of who were the judges among all who visited their areas to survey and examine their creation. From electric circuits to incubators and blood tests, everything was displayed and carried out in a synchronized and an organized manner. Some highlights of the event were \u2018Rainbow Burst\u2019 done by 10<sup>th<\/sup> graders and headed by Miss Sadaf and \u2018The display of cosmology\u2019 by 9<sup>th<\/sup> graders. Another pinnacle of the event was the astounding presentation of 3D and 2D holograms which demonstrated the perplexing way the visible light energy works, headed by Miss Fouzia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another part of this event that is much needed to be mentioned is the fundraiser \u2018Bake Sale\u2019 focusing on environmental sciences, held by 10<sup>th<\/sup> graders who are a part of our school\u2019s Global Citizenship Community which was supervised by Miss Mudassir. The students set up a stall and sold baked items to raise money which was to be given for the protection of animals. This animal protection community action project was highly successful and greatly supported by our school as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this phenomenal event, we were joined by our esteemed ma\u2019am Yasmin Qazi and the youthful, excited juniors of the primary branch along with their teachers. Their presence was much appreciated and enjoyed by everyone as they invited them to visit their set-up. Nevertheless, no one enjoyed it more than overjoyed primary graders that were watching everything with awe shining in their eyes and exhilaration that was nearly bursting out of them. All other teachers and students on campus didn\u2019t fail to enjoy and appreciate the experience as they took part in games and STEM-related competitions arranged to keep them entertained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All in all the event was successful and deeply enjoyed.
