Apart from studies, BLA also encourages its students to take part in extracurricular activities whether it be MUNs, debates or robotic events, and as always, the participants never fail to make us proud. The same legacy was continued on Saturday, the 21st of September, 2019 in the flagship event of e-Magine \u201cVisionaries 3.0\u201d at Movenpick Hotel, Karachi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event mainly tested the creativity of the\nstudents as they were asked to innovate a new idea that could benefit or change\nthe world. This event gave the students a platform to exhibit their ideas and\nencouraged practical thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from just participating in the event, some students also volunteered to help manage this event. The volunteers namely; Mahnoor Azam, Sanabil Maryam, Aaliyan Nazir, Daniyal Roy,\u00a0 Ayesha Khan, Ahmed Durrani, Hamza Kamran, Osman Irfan and a few other students were interviewed on 13th of September 2019. After clearing the interview, they were asked to report at the house of Miss Huda Garib, the CEO and founder of e-Magine, to make preparations for the big day. These volunteers kept working vigorously for two odd days and all day long on the day of the event, as Mahnoor Azam, one of the volunteers said, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe worked the whole night before the event writing names on certificates and planning other things. It was a very tiring, yet a great experience. The best part for me was calculating the result and finding out that our school had won the third position.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Two teams from each school; comprising of five\nstudents participated in the event. Our Team A comprised of grade XI-D\nstudents, while Team B was from XI-E.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the 21st of September, the teams were asked\nto report at 09:15 am. Other than Beacon Light Academy, there were other\nschools as well, namely The City School, Ilmesters Academy and Bayview Academy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The teams were given a time limit of about 100\nminutes, which was extended to almost two hours afterwards, to innovate a new\nidea that could benefit the World. Along with this they had to prepare a\nprototype of their idea from Lego type Robotics blocks, a PowerPoint\npresentation and charts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to lunch, each team submitted their\npresentations and after lunch, the teams presented their innovations in front\nof an esteemed panel of judges including; Mr. Kanwal Masroor (CEO of Tech\nPakistan), Ms.Urooj Seemeen and Mr. Salman Khan. Guest of Honors included Mr.\nJaved Jabbar Senator(R) and George Fulton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Team A of our students presented the idea of a\nSmart Diary 1.0 which could remind students of their timetable so they don\u2019t\nforget any required books or items at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Team B of BLA presented the idea of an\nelectric car in Pakistan to save fuel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the motivational and enthusiastic\nspeeches of the CEO, the judges, and chief guests (mainly Mr. George Fulton\u2019s\ncomic speech), the most awaited moment arrived. The host stepped on the stage\nto announce the result; hearts beating fast, hands trembling, the excitement\nand anxiety could be felt throughout the hall as the result was finally\nannounced with the Team A of our school winning the third position among 22\nother teams. The howls of our victory echoed throughout the hall as the winners\ncollected their trophy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hard work and the confidence of the\nstudents while presenting the idea really paid off as the students of Beacon\nLight Academy made us proud once again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
