Auditorium. A Place for the unseen…

Written by: Areeba Jamil Syed XI-A

Many of you must’ve noticed that our Auditorium is going under maintenance since Friday due to which an idea came to my mind. The idea of sharing with my fellow mates about some of the darkest rumors you’ve ever heard before. Today I am here to tell you about certain rumors and experiences that I have heard from many students of BLA and myself experienced, about the auditorium.

It is to be said that ghosts reside in places where people often don’t go and are a large mass of open space. What comes to your mind if you are asked to think of such a place that is slight in similarity to such a description? The only large and empty place in the school is none other than our auditorium.

It’s true that you might not believe me here but many incidents have occurred in that hall full of vacant chairs for no one to sit for who knows how long. One incident narrated by none other than my own class experienced a slight presence of an unseen being. They narrated, “We were there playing a ghost game based on urban legends, ‘Charlie Charlie.’ (it is a game where you take a piece of paper divide it into 4 equal sections with a pencil or pen and write ‎’ yes’ and ‘no’ alternately and then place two pencils across the divided section with one on top of the other in  opposite directions.) We called out his name many times with each time a disappointing result with no response. After many attempts, we stood up and decided to leave when suddenly we noticed the pencil floating in the air. The pencil fell on the paper but we heard the noise of its fall from another direction which made us panic and run out of the hall.” The moving of the pencil pointing at either yes or no is something even I experienced many times in the past as well.

Alongside this, I have heard that during examination when we are giving our exam it is rather stuffy and uncomfortable there. It is very unnatural because that uneasiness is not only in summer (due to heat) but in winter as well, and as a student of ‘Class XI-A’ I have given an exam in there and noticed this as well.

Furthermore, many rumors state that there happened to be incidents when you spot teachers in the auditorium who didn’t happen to be at school. This also happened to me as well. I spotted a certain teacher (I don’t recall who she was) in the auditorium walking around with a pile of books. I am certain I knew that teacher because later that day I looked for the same teacher for a certain reason to find that the teacher was absent that day. I forgot it since I didn’t give it much notice but when I heard that rumor I was confirmed that I saw the teacher that day…

This is all I have for my spooky rumors. I will be back for more next time, until then watch out where you place your step. Because there might be something that you can’t see but feel its there
