Remaster or just a cash grab?
Naughty Dog is famous for their immersive games and detailed gameplays. Some of their famous games include “The Last of Us” and “Uncharted 4”. Their last game “The Last of Us” Part 2, was released back in 2020. After that, they released a remake of the original Last of Us in 2022. For a whole year Naughty Dog was quiet, up until recently. On 17 November 2023, Naughty Dog announced they were making The Last of Us Part 2 remaster- a remaster of a game that is only 3 years old. Rightfully so, the fans are upset with Naughty Dog as they were expecting a new game, not a remaster. Meanwhile some fans defend Naughty Dog, saying that the company probably needs revenue for their recent upcoming game they are working on. Whatever it is, it is safe to say that Naughty Dog’s reputation has taken a hit after this announcement.
Ads in a 70 dollar game?!
I am sure we’ve all experienced ads while playing video games on our phones. They’re horrible and the worst way to ruin a game’s experience, but have you ever seen ads in an AAA game? No? Well Ubisoft recently broke this trend by implementing ads of their latest Assassin’s Creed title in their older Assassin’s Creed. A popular video is circulating around the internet of a person playing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey from 2018. Everyone was rightfully disgusted by this move. When Ubisoft got to know of the situation, they immediately posted a tweet on X (formerly Twitter), explaining that they were trying to post the ad in the main menu but due to a ‘technical issue’, it had popped up in-game. Next, let’s talk about something more exciting than ads. On 2nd November, we released an article where we talked about how a rumour had spread that GTA 6’s trailer will be released within a week. Funnily enough, on November 8th, Rockstar Games announced in a tweet that they will be releasing the ‘trailer for their next GTA title’ in early December. It’s safe to presume this title would be GTA 6. And not only that – Rockstar Games have just announced on 1st December that they will be releasing the first trailer of GTA 6 on 5th December. It’s time to mark our calendars, because this might be one of the biggest events in gaming history. GTA 6 has a lot of high expectations to fulfill, and we are soon going to see whether or not the hype for GTA 6 was worth it. This is what Rockstar Games released on their social media accounts:
