“You trouble makers”, “Stop your chatter boxes , we are here to study!”, “These mischievous kids disturb my whole class”, these are some of the remarks you would have definitely heard of if you are part of that completely different world, located at the back side of the class, called – “Backbenches”.
I can proudly say that I am a backbencher, despite all the criticism and anger we innocent kids face every second.
To be really honest, being a backbencher means possessing, probably, the best skills that one can own. These are the skills that require guts and courage. The skills that not everyone can have because, those obscure areas of a classroom are places reserved for those who are different. We are dreamers, risk takers and free souls unlike those who succumb to the educational system to emerge as a “winner”. Backbenchers are people who don’t have books in their hands but have revolutionary ideas in their minds. We are those who are owners of creative minds which are always flooding with innovative ideas. After all, it’s not only me, but a prominent historical leader, said so.
“The best brains of the nation may be found on the last benches of the classroom.”
A.P.J Kalam
Not only this, but we are also a true definition of fun loving and lively people. From scribbling on our desks to filling up the last pages of our books with fascinating doodles, there is no way you can get bored during long, exhausting lectures. You can make the fondest memories of your life in those last benches while you are never caught. You may be munching on some snacks or taking power naps in those sleepy history classes, and also camouflage your way through cheating adventures like an expert. We are, proudly, the people who bring glory to the class, that spark which leaves wildest memories and ,for sure, those friendships that have incredible bonds, as strong as carbon monoxide (shout out to all the nerds out there).
We are never against the idea of studying but we can’t be those book worms, for whom the world seems to start and end on cramming course lessons. We are not against tests but they remind teachers of it when they have forgotten. Like come on give us some time! And finally, we aren’t against good grades but how they get them in the very front, acting as if they are superior to us. Don’t you think frontbenchers are overrated amongst the teachers? While, we are surely underrated. May this world give us our due honour soon!
Should we have a frontbencher answer my concerns? Leave us your feedback.
This is absolutely true😂❤
